My mom asked me to join her for Whisk + Measure‘s first cookie decorating class and I was stoked!
Not only do I love every opportunity to be creative, but I ALSO LOVE THIS PLACE!
It’s nestled into the cozy shops off 132nd & Center in Omaha. | 2505 S. 133rd Plaza |
They offer an array of delicious coffee options, as well as treats that will cater to pretty much every diet: Paleo & Vegan items come to mind as I write this.
I think it’s still a hidden gem because every time I visit, I’m surprised I can actually find a place to sit – BUT that probably won’t happen very often after you read this post!
Yes, I’m sharing my secrets with you so you can benefit as I have from this beautiful space.
The wooden wall and long buffet-style table in the center of the place makes it feel like you’re right at home.
The decor is unique and fitting for the ambiance – I just love these cute whisk light fixtures!
THE COOKIE DECORATING CLASS
I think it was quite a hit with my mom and I.
We learned several new, simple techniques to use for the next few holidays.
Every class from here on out, they’ll feature a different style of decorating (which means you can go to more than one).
Meeting some new people and having laughs is always the best.
They served a variety of their homemade treat bars along with coffee (in funny/cute mugs).
If you have a moment, go visit the Whisk & Measure Facebook page so you can find out when their next class will be!
They supply it ALL – and I was ecstatic to hear that because they have addicting sugar cookies. 🙂 – and it saved me hours of cookie baking, rolling and cutting. ACK!
These lovely ladies led the class with patience, going step-by-step!
Everyone went at their own pace, and they taught us how to make designs as we went.
A special shout out to Ursula VanAntwerp for taking a moment to chat with me after the class so I could learn more about their company and personalities.
The finished products turned out pretty great, and they TASTED even better!
Boyfriend already approved.
I think it’s always an added bonus when you meet GOOD people during a first-time experience.
You put yourself out there, learn a new skill and you end up supporting local people/businesses in the process of growing yourself.
That’s what life is all about. 🙂
Building relationships & enjoying the journey!
Oh my goodness, these turned out even better than we’d imagined!
What a fun activity to do with a loved one.
Thanks for inviting me, mom!
